THE PISTOL IS AMPED UP ABOUT HIS RED SOX!! (but what else is new!) Opening Night (on Easter Sunday this year!) at Fenway Pahhhhk is fast approaching, and Josh "The Gunslingin', Texas Cowboy" Beckett, is taking the ball from Manager Tito Francona, and getting the start. He'll be going toe to toe presumably with the Yankees' top dog C.C. Sabathia. The SOX are unveiling their new recipe for success this year, with their defensive additions of Marco Scutaro, Adrian Beltre, and Mike Cameron joining the charge. WHAT A WAY TO KICK OFF THE 2010 SEASON!! Against the defending champs from the Bronx!? THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR!! UNBELIEVABLE!
Now, I must note, in no way does baseball (or ANYTHING for that matter!) trump The Good Lord's Day, but I'm telling ya.........church, ham dinner, and family...... never looked so good! Talk about a double header!! I'm lovin' it folks......and The Pistol's firing off again to tell you about it! KA-POW!
In College Men's Basketball, my pick to upset the entire sports universe, St. Mary's, suffered a brutal defeat last week, and will going home empty-handed. And now ladies and gentleman.......there were Four. Duke, Michigan State, Butler, and West Virginia make up the Final Four this year. The Pistol's gonna go with his gut and pick Duke, but to be honest, now that St. Mary's is out of it, I could care less who wins! I just think it would be nice to see Coach K win another one...... because when it's all said and done, he'll probably end up dethroning UCLA's legendary John Wooden, as the greatest men's basketball coach in NCAA history....But we'll see....
In NBA basketball, there's only a couple of weeks left in the regular season, and the Celts seem to be playing some inspired ball. Although they lost last night in a close, gem-of-a-game shootout with the Thunder, they seem to be playing with the fire and energy that they need to have for the post season. Rasheed Wallace FINALLY came to life, and played like the Rasheed of old, dropping 18 points and shooting almost perfect from the floor! He also dove on the floor for a ball, and caused general havoc down on the posts. And, considering that he's been one of the big "disappointments" of the year, it's good to see him finally putting in a effort on both ends of the court.
THE PISTOL LOVES HIS CELTICS!... and I don't care what anyone on ESPN or Sports Radio says about it! If KG, Paul, and Ray can overcome their ailments and give it one more good go for the final stretch, and the BENCH can give them the support they need, and play like men possessed ....then they can upset anybody in the East, or the West!!
I've seen it before folks, and I know that, before I die........ I'll see it again!!
THE PISTOL'S GOT NOTHIN' BUT FAITH, AND HOPE, AND LOVE FOR YA!
FIRING SHOTS AND TAKIN' NAMES!.............KA-POW!!!
SEE YA ALL SOON CRAZY HEADS!
